Water remediation at SJUMC Paterson is underway today, December 12. A full water shutdown began at 6:00 PM.
Do not use sinks, showers, or ice machines due to sanitizing chemicals. Use portable handwashing stations and bottled water for all needs.
The Emergency Operations Center is open and supporting operations. For issues or questions between 6:00 PM December 12 and 6:00 AM December 13, contact the EOC at extension 6666.
When
6:00pm Friday, December 12, 2025 through overnight.
Where
St. Joseph’s University Medical Center campus.
Work taking place
• Remediation of water issues.
• Flushing of all outlets.
• Required water testing.
• Initial installation work for a new system.
During the shutdown
• Do not use sinks, showers, or ice machines.
• Toilets remain usable.
• Do not drink tap water or use it for brushing teeth, food prep, or patient care.
Support in place
• Bottled water.
• Alternate hand hygiene options.

• The EOC activates at 5:00pm Friday.
