Over the past week, there has been a growing demand for COVID-19 testing from both the community and our SJH employees. While community members continue to be directed to our Community COVID Testing Site at 11 Getty Avenue in Paterson for COVID-19 testing, we want to clarify the current policies and procedures for employee COVID-19 testing.
As St. Joseph’s continues to see an increase in COVID-19 inpatient and outpatient volume, as well as continued staffing challenges to meet the needs of our patients, the decision has been made to open the Incident Command Center.
In an effort to ensure the health and safety of both patients and staff at all St. Joseph’s facilities, please adhere to the following practices: Visitors who accompany patients into the ED or any other clinical areas will be unable to remain at the patient’s bedside if the patient tests positive for COVID-19. Early yesterday, we shared with you that an information security breach has occurred nationwide within UKG Workforce Central (Kronos), the time and attendance system used by St. Joseph’s Health that allows us to process payroll. We have since learned that the breach was a ransomware attack that is affecting organizations across the country.
