St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to offer all employees the opportunity for COVID-19 vaccination – a dramatic step forward in our fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The vaccine is safe and effective, helps to reduce the likelihood of getting severely ill, and aids in preventing widespread infection.
Any St. Joseph’s Health employee who received the COVID-19 vaccine and has questions about the shot can call an employee hotline. The line is staffed by a registered nurse 12 hours per day, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Feel free to call 1-973-910-2502.

Since we began distribution on Friday, December 18, nearly 2,000 frontline clinical and support employees have been vaccinated in what we’re all calling a “shot of hope.” We are pleased to open vaccination to all departments that were categorized as 1A, even if the department was originally scheduled for Week 2.

The much-anticipated COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine has arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center.
Vaccination for those clinical and support departments that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has categorized as 1A (patient and public-facing employees) will begin at Noon on Friday, December 18th, on both campuses. After December 18, vaccination will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the Auditoriums in Paterson and 3AB in Wayne.
St. Joseph’s is anticipating arrival of the first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this week. Because initial supplies of the vaccine provided to New Jersey hospitals will be limited, there will be a Phased Distribution process among staff, beginning with clinical and support team members who have Direct Patient and Public-Facing Interactions. With the number of vaccines we expect to receive, we believe we will have sufficient supply to vaccinate all in this category over the course of the first few weeks.
