
St. Joseph’s Health has deployed Bleeding Control Kits in various locations across the Paterson, Wayne, and Totowa campuses. These kits contain life-saving tools to help stop severe bleeding in an emergency and are intended for use by trained personnel only.
This initiative is a joint effort between the Department of Emergency Management and Preparedness and the Division of Trauma.

Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death after injury. With just three simple actions, you can be trained and empowered to save a life.
Get Trained
To be trained and authorized to use a Bleeding Control Kit, you must complete both steps below through Relias:
Step 1: Complete the ACS Stop the Bleed course
Step 2: Sign up for and attend a hands-on training session
