Attention St. Joseph’s Health Staff: Severe Weather Alert for Passaic County

The National Weather Service has issued an alert for the threat of severe weather in Passaic County tonight, June 26, 2024. Please be advised of the following hazards and impacts:

Hazards & Impacts:

  • Damaging Winds: Wind gusts in excess of 58 mph could damage trees and power lines, resulting in scattered power outages.
  • Large Hail: Severe hail greater than 1” in diameter is possible with stronger storms, particularly in the “Slight” risk area.
  • Heavy Rainfall: Brief, minor flooding is possible under any thunderstorm, especially in urban and poor drainage areas. Localized instances of flash flooding cannot be ruled out.

Timing:

  • The threat of severe weather is expected from 5 PM today until 2 AM Thursday.
