COVID-19 Testing Begins For Unvaccinated Employees

Last month, St. Joseph’s Health announced a transition to a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy for all employees. This policy is aligned with Governor Phil Murphy’s announcement that all healthcare workers in New Jersey must receive the vaccine no later than Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Employees who are not vaccinated must request an exemption and comply with weekly COVID-19 PCR testing. As that deadline is rapidly approaching, we want to provide you with the following information regarding employee testing.

COVID-19 testing for employees who have not yet received both doses of the vaccine will begin on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Employees must be tested at St. Joseph’s Health either before or after their shift to meet the requirement. Testing must take place weekly, with at least five days in between each test. Testing will be conducted alphabetically at two St. Joseph’s sites.

What do you need to do?

  1. Print and complete the registration form below .
  • Bring your completed registration form and your employee identification badge to one of the following locations for testing:

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center: Getty Conference Room, Tuesday -Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center: Outdoor trailer, either walk-in or drive-thru, Tuesday – Thursday, 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

St. Joseph’s Healthcare & Rehab Center: Testing is offered Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. and  2:00 to 4:00 p.m. If you cannot make either of these days, you must go to either Wayne or Paterson.

Testing will not be offered on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

  • To accommodate all employees, testing days will correlate with the first letter of each employee’s last name, as follows:
  • A-G Tuesdays
  • H-N Wednesdays
  • 0-S Thursdays
  • T-Z Fridays

For example, beginning on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, those employees with the first letters of their last names beginning with H-N will go to one of the two St. Joseph’s locations for testing with their completed registration form and their employee identification badge.

For COVID test results, log into the St. Joseph’s Health Patient Portal at www.stjosephshealth.org/portal. A representative from St. Joseph’s Employee Health will only reach out if an employee has a positive test result.
