St. Joseph’s is anticipating arrival of the first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this week. Because initial supplies of the vaccine provided to New Jersey hospitals will be limited, there will be a Phased Distribution process among staff, beginning with clinical and support team members who have Direct Patient and Public-Facing Interactions. With the number of vaccines we expect to receive, we believe we will have sufficient supply to vaccinate all in this category over the course of the first few weeks.
Attached please find schedules for the medical staff so you can easily identify which departments and specialties have been assigned within the first three weeks of vaccine distribution. These schedules serve as a guide. Physicians are welcome and encouraged to receive vaccination during the noted open time slots. The schedules allow for a wide variety of timeframes, providing multiple options for receiving the vaccine.
To expedite this process for voluntary medical staff, a registrar will be in the Physician’s Lounge on both the St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center campuses during the following days and times:
Paterson campus: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Wayne campus: Tuesday, Thursday
Times for all: 6:00-10:00 a.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Should you decide to receive your vaccination at a different time, please check-in in the Paterson Main Lobby (under the globe) and in 3AB on the Wayne campus.
While not mandatory at St. Joseph’s, the COVID-19 vaccine is a safe and effective way to limit the spread of disease – thereby protecting you, your family, and your patients. Please continue to monitor your St. Joseph’s email account and SJH Alert for more information on the COVID-19 vaccine distribution.
