UPDATED: SURGICAL PRE-ADMISSION POLICY FOR OUTPATIENT AND INPATIENT/ DIRECT ADMISSION POLICY/ EMERGENCY PATIENT ADMISSONS

Effective immediately, the following policy shall supersede prior Covid-19 protocol emergency policies for admitting and pre-admissions (including outpatient) to SJH:

  1. All surgical COVID-19 testing shall be waived for surgical/procedural cases scheduled as either routine or elective (outpatient and inpatient) if: Patient has completed full COVID-19 Vaccination series (mRNA or Jansen  Vaccine) or has had a history of previous Covid -19 infection (and has recovered from same within a 90 day period of procedure or surgery) and is free of COVID-19 Symptoms.

Completion of Vaccination series shall be regarded as post vaccination elapsed time of 14 or more days of either vaccine type.

  •  Patients may be admitted as direct admissions to AMFs provided the Physician/LIP provide documentation of the appropriate vaccination completion and/or Covid-19 infection/recovery as above in #1.
  •  Emergency Admissions (via the ED) of patients not suspect for Covid-19, and fulfilling criteria in #1, shall not require Covid-19 testing prior to admission. IF ANY DOUBT EXISTS-THE POLICY IS TEST.
